Coming Home: Water for Eklutna

Produced by Jeff Chen at Native Movment, this film tells the story of the Eklutna Dena’ina people’s connection to the Eklutna River and its salmon runs. The abundant salmon runs that used to travel to spawning grounds throughout the river, lake, and streams of the Eklutna valley have sustained the Eklutna Dena’ina peoples for generations, who have in turn carefully stewarded the fish and surrounding resources. This film highlights their stories and hopes through the voices of several members of the Native Village of Eklutna and shows us the importance of restoring the Eklutna River so the salmon can return.
